Autism Spectrum Disorders

Families who are affected by autism spectrum disorders (autism, pervasive developmental disability, Asperger’s Syndrome, non-verbal learning disorder) face an array of challenges.  The following services are offered to help families affected by autism spectrum disorders:

Individual Counseling and Coaching
Treatment of mental health disorders associated with autism spectrum disorders, as well as coaching in daily living challenges

Couple Counseling
For couples who have a member on the spectrum; coaching and education about how the disorder affects relationships, communication, expectations

Adult Social Skills/Peer Groups
For adults (18+) on the spectrum; a safe place to meet weekly with peers, to learn friendship and other social skills

Teen Social Skills/Peer Groups
For teens (13 – 16) on the spectrum; a safe place to meet, learn social skills, and have fun, with a group of peers who understand the challenges of being on the spectrum

Transitional/Vocational Counseling and Job Coaching
Individual counseling and coaching to devise a transition plan, find a suitable career and job, and avoid pitfalls and termination once a job is attained

Asperger’s Syndrome Screening
For adults who suspect they may be on the spectrum and wish to have testing and evaluation

Training and Consulting
Training and consulting on autism spectrum disorders for employers, schools, police departments, therapists, and others who need to learn more about spectrum disorders.
